There’s always room for s’more!

We gave out these sweet DIY s’mores party favors at Colton’s Little Lumberjack birthday party. They were one of my favorite party details…and Colton’s too! He loved helping me assemble them.

I want to share a quick tutorial on how to make DIY s’mores kits for party favors, wedding favors, or just to brighten someone’s day.

These s’mores kits will make 2 s’mores apiece. For each s’mores kit, you’ll need 2 graham cracker sheetsir?t=mamabops05 20&l=am2&o=1&a=B00H46SBVS, 2 large marshmallowsir?t=mamabops05 20&l=am2&o=1&a=B00CSCLDVS, 1/2 of a Hershey’s chocolate barir?t=mamabops05 20&l=am2&o=1&a=B000IXWCQO, a clear favor bagir?t=mamabops05 20&l=am2&o=1&a=B003W0H5EE, and string/twine to tie the bag closedir?t=mamabops05 20&l=am2&o=1&a=B00WHXQIJA.

A quick tip regarding the chocolate bars: they will be much easier to break in half if they are cold, so put them in the refrigerator for a bit before you start this project. If they’re too warm, they might not break in the right place, plus you may end up with fingerprints in the chocolate. I learned this lesson the hard way, although Colton enjoyed snacking on the pieces with fingerprints! We also ended up with multiple graham crackers that did not break in the right spot, so if you’re a perfectionist, make sure you purchase extras to account for breakage.

You’ll probably also want to use a cute tag to make this treat even sweeter! The one I used is a free printable from Tatertots & Jello. There are tons of adorable (and free!) options out there, like this “S’more Love for Later” tag from Lolly Jane and this birthday favor option from Inspiration Made Simple. Or you could design your own tag with details of your special event!

Once you have your ingredients ready and tags cut out, it’s time to assemble. Of course, you can layer your ingredients any way you want in the bags. Experiment to see what you think looks the nicest. I found it worked best with my specific bags to do 2 graham cracker halves, chocolate, marshmallows, then the remaining 2 graham cracker halves. Tie the top together with twine or ribbon and don’t forget the tag!

Don’t forget to pin these instructions to make your own s’mores party favors!

Want more s’mores? My family’s favorite S’mores Cookies are just the thing! The secret ingredient will have everyone asking you for the recipe.

Do you prefer DIY or store-bought party favors? What’s the best party favor you or your kids have ever received? As for Colton, I think his favorite favor to receive is candy… of course!

    1. You have to, Zoe! You can even beat them up in the microwave. We do that quite a bit.

  8. How far in advance can I make them for a wedding? Do they get stale quickly?

    1. I wouldn’t make them more than a couple days in advance. How quickly the graham crackers will go stale depends on the type of bag you use… if you want to make them further in advance, I’d look for a zipper-seal bag as opposed to the twist-tie bags I used here. Hope that helps! Best of luck with the wedding planning!

      1. Thanks! We’ll have to schedule a “favor party” the day before the wedding. Shouldn’t take too long if we get some help.
