I have some very exciting news to share: Colton is potty trained! My husband and I couldn’t be more proud of how quickly he grasped the concept. It’s been a month and he’s had very, very few accidents. So, I think it’s safe to say he is successfully trained! And it was honestly easier than I thought it would be. Here’s how to potty train in 3 days or less…
We only have a few short weeks left until Baby Girl makes her debut! I’ve started thinking about what to include in my hospital bag, and a cute maternity hospital gown was near the top of the list. With my first baby, I wore the standard hospital-issue gown for my entire stay. Which, for those of you keeping track at home, ended up being close to 2 weeks long for a myriad of issues. I felt so gross and frumpy. And, to be frank, I was embarrassed when the hospital’s newborn photographer came by to take photos of Colton and I. Am I vain? Probably. But at least I own it, and I’m planning ahead with some more stylish options this time around. That’s why I was so excited to find this cute hospital gown to pack for our little girl’s birth!
If you’ve been reading here for awhile, it’s no secret that I’ve been having a lot of fun decorating our baby girl’s nursery. I chose a monochrome color scheme and added a lot of personalized details to make the room perfect for our little lady. But, one nagging area bothering me was the flooring. We have builder basic carpet in the upstairs of our home, which doesn’t exactly scream “stylish.” We didn’t have much use for the upstairs bedrooms when we built the house 5 years ago (pre-kids!), so we went neutral. I wanted to add a fun rug to the nursery to make the floor fit in with the rest of the room’s decor. After some research on the best rugs for baby nursery, I found one that checked all my boxes!

I actually enjoy going to baby showers. Is that weird? Lots of people complain about being invited to baby showers, but I’ve always enjoyed them! I like seeing the glowing mom-to-be and admiring all the adorable baby gifts. I even like the cheesy games. But my favorite part is selecting my gift for baby! We’ve made some major progress in our monochrome baby girl nursery since the last time I wrote about Baby’s room. I can’t believe she’ll be joining us in just 2 short months! I’ve been working quite a bit to make sure her room is ready for her arrival… since, let’s be real, I won’t have any time to work on the nursery once she’s here. Honestly, sometimes the thought of entertaining 2 children all day scares me. At least newborns don’t require much entertainment. Just milk. Lots and lots and lots of milk. But enough about that, I’m excited to show you what I’ve been working on!
